Part 1: The Meeting

A lone office in a dimly lit room, filled with monitors and wires. Jessica, an American DFS (Digital Forensics Specialist), is hunched over her computer, analyzing server logs for a case involving a massive cyber breach. She’s been through it all — hacked networks, encrypted systems, and corporate espionage. But this case? This one feels different.

The phone rings.

“Jessica? You’re gonna want to take this one. We’ve got a security expert in Canada who specializes in shell scripting. He’s agreed to work with you.”

She sighs, adjusting her glasses. “I’m not in the mood for teamwork.”

Her colleague laughs, “You might want to make an exception. Trust me.”

Reluctantly, Jessica answers. A voice crackles through the speaker.

“Hi, I’m Ethan. I’ve read your reports. I think we could make some serious progress if we combine our skills.”

Jessica raises an eyebrow. “Uh-huh. Well, we’ll see about that.”
